Work With Us

Our Mission:

University Tutors for Seattle Schools increases the density of caring, highly capable adults in public school classrooms to increase student achievement and support teacher effectiveness.

UTSS Tutors are placed in elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the Seattle Public School District to provide support to students and teachers. Tutors may serve as circulating classroom assistants, lead a small group, or provide individual academic support during regular school hours. Once placed in a partner school, tutors are directed by the principal and an appointed site coordinator for the duration of the contracted period of the 2021-2022 school year following the SPS academic calendar (typically September/October through June). Our tutors work shifts of at least 3 hours at a time for approximately 15-25 hours per week during the school day (typically between 8am and 3pm), depending on placement.
